ANGLE LIFEBOAT was called out in the early hours of Wednesday morning after a fishing boat struck rocks in the Haven.
The crew of the 15 metre vessel, the CKS, contacted coastguards at 3.02am saying that they had struck rocks and were taking on water.
The crew took to the liferaft near Sheep Island in West Angle Bay. The lifeboat arrived within 15 minutes of the emergency call, and recovered the five-man crew and returned them to shore.
Coastguards from St Govans were also in attendance. None of the crew required hospital attention.
Coastguards have said that attempts to refloat the boat will be made later today. The boat is not interfering with shipping.
Ben Wilson Ceredigion Operations Manager for NRW, said: “We’re monitoring the situation, but at the moment it appears that no pollution has happened as a result of this incident.
“There is some diesel and hydraulic oil on the boat but none appears to have leaked and we are working with the Milford Haven Port Authority to put a boom in place if any does leak.
“This will make sure the local environment is protected which is important for local wildlife and people.”
