HUNDREDS of cars remain stranded at Gwynedd’s Festival No 6 park and ride site after heavy rain over the weekend has left the field water-logged.

Festival-goers who tried to leave the site yesterday (Sep 4) have reportedly had to wait hours for a tractor to pull them out of the mud and water.

The situation was so severe that a Porthmadog leisure centre opened up overnight for stranded festival attendees to stay in.

The organisers of the festival have released a statement, saying: “The furthest parking field is still inaccessible due to safety grounds, if you are parked here please remain on-site and await further instruction.

“Everyone else please make your way to the park and ride in your own time and follow instruction on arrival. We are assisting with the extraction of vehicles but expect long delays. Thank you for your cooperation.”

The car park was closed overnight and re-opened this morning (Sep 5) where many vehicles remain stuck.
