Mrs Evans said: “People rely on their Post Office. It provides an essential service for local businesses, and is a vital lifeline for many customers – particularly for many pensioners who really depend on the Post Office.
“Since the branch closed, customers have had no choice but to travel to neighbouring branches – which is not always easy if your only option is public transport.
“On receiving the news on Sunday that the branch would reopen, I immediately sought – and received – confirmation that there will be no diminution in the hours of service. The Post Office told me that the opening hours in the Cardigan branch will as they were previously – 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, and 9am to 12.30pm on Saturday.
“I also raised the question of whether or not the Post Office will operate bilingually, and hope to receive clarification on that soon.”
