A BODY has been found in the search for a 22-year-old man who fell into the River Teifi near Newcastle Emlyn yesterday afternoon (Jul 6).
His body has been formally identified by his next of kin.
Emergency services were alerted at approximately 12:30pm that a man had fallen into the River Teifi on Bridge Street.
Dyfed-Powys Police, the Welsh Ambulance Service and the Wales Air Ambulance attended the scene as a large-scale search operation begun.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said during the incident: “We were called at approximately 12.25pm this afternoon (Thursday 6 July) to reports of a person in the water in the River Teifi in Newcastle Emlyn.
“The Wales Air Ambulance, two crews in emergency ambulances and a paramedic in a rapid response car are currently at the scene.”
