AN INJURED woman was airlifted from Borth Beach this morning (Jul 25).
On arrival, she was on the waters edge, semi-conscious with 3 relatives in attendance.
Borth CRT transferred the casualty to a stretcher and moved her away from the incoming tide, and covered her with a blanket to keep her warm and monitored her until the arrival of Coastguard Helicopter Rescue 936.
Borth Coastguard were quickly joined by Rescue 936 from Caernarfon, and a paramedic was winched down from the helicopter and began to assess the casualty.
An ambulance arrived on scene and the team were join by two ambulance technicians.
The decision was made to transfer the casualty to Bronglais Hospital on Rescue 936.
Aberystwyth Coastguard were waiting at the helicopter landing site to assist with the transfer from the Helicopter to a waiting ambulance in Aberystwyth.
All equipment was cleared from the beach and Borth Coastguard returned to station.
