CEREDIGION COUNTY COUNCIL was pleased to confirm that during a special meeting of the Council yesterday (Jul 31), Mr Eifion Evans was appointed as the new Chief Executive of Ceredigion County Council.
Mr Eifion Evans is currently the Deputy Chief Executive of Ceredigion having worked over 21 years within Ceredigion as Director of Education, Headteacher and Teacher.
Mr Evans was appointed following a robust and thorough selection process involving key partners within the Ceredigion Public Service Board and elected members of the Council.
The Leader of the Council, Councillor Ellen ap Gwynn said: “I’d like to congratulate Eifion on his new position – serving the people of Ceredigion is a very special privilege. Opportunities and challenges face our county and I’m looking forward to working closely with our new Chief Executive to ensure the best for the county’s residents.”
The appointment of a new Chief Executive follows the recent announcement by Ms Bronwen Morgan to retire from the role at the end of September following 10 years of dedicated service as Chief Executive.
It is expected that Mr Evans will take up the new position on October 1.
