Welsh Guards lead bicentenary parade

marchLAST SATURDAY, Pembroke Dock witnessed one of its biggest parades marking its bicentenary, led by the Band of the Welsh Guards.

Soldiers from the Royal Corps of Signals, Legion Standards and Army, Navy and Air Force cadets all joined them. The Fanfarenzug Stadt Band, which is on a twinning visit from Bergen, Germany, Pembroke Borough Silver band and Haverfordwest ATC Band also took part in the parade. About 100 standards from across Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire and between 700 and 800 people, including Army, Air Force, Royal Marine and sea cadets attended the parade. They stepped off from Pembroke Dock Community School at 11am and paraded through the town ending up at the Royal Dockyard Chapel. Pembrokeshire district parade marshal David Boswell will be one of three on parade.
